Soldiers from the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and Special Forces Command (SFC) Wednesday arrested a senior operative at Internal Security Organization (ISO).
Simon Peter Odong reportedly attempted to interfere with a UPDF-led operation and further released information on members of the first family to an online publisher.
Odongo, who heads the ICT department at ISO, was arrested after he threatened to shoot at UPDF soldiers who were investigating alleged mismanagement and interference with the relief food distribution exercise by other ISO operatives.
He was picked with two others in connection with committing cybercrime.
SFC spokespersons told edge.ug Wednesday that they were not aware of the development.
Odongo came into the limelight in 2018 when he claimed to had tapped conversations of former police chief Kale Kayihura and his aide Herbert Muhangi on how they allegedly plotted the killing of Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
He was also reportedly behind the raid on MTN offices where servers were confiscated in relation to spying for Rwanda.
