Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah has handed over the Shs20m to Omoro District COVID-19 Taskforce at Lalogi HC IV.
This is in line with and respect to the directive given by H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the guidance by Parliament.
The president told the MPs to give out the money to district taskforces fighting coronavirus and not keep it for themselves.
“In addition to the money I returned, I made a contribution of Shs20m to support the repair of Omoro’s many defunct boreholes,” Oulanyah said Friday.
He said water is an urgent necessity especially during this time and even though the district is working to ensure a stable and permanent solution.
“We can in the meantime find other remedies,” he noted.
The Shs10bn that parliament gave itself has since caused Speaker Rebecca Kadaga endless headaches.
