Uganda’s coronavirus cases have risen to 53.
Today, 214 were tested, one was positive and the rest negative.
The new confirmed case is a 36 year old female, resident of Wakiso district who travelled from China on 21st March.
She was under institutional quarantine at the time of test.
About 3,600 have been tested and only 53 are positive.
“That’s where we are now,” said President Museveni while addressing the nation on Wednesday.
Health ministry needs bigger budget
The ministry of health will require 404 billion shillings to fight COVID-19 pandemic in the next six months.
Out of this only, 104 billion shillings has been provided for by the Parliamentary budgets committee under the supplementary budget before parliament.
Minister Dr. Jane Aceng says part of their budget this month is to recruit 220 medical officers.
