Police arrests students, teachers in defiant schools

On Monday, Police raided Kabojja Junior School and Daffodils School in Kololo, Central Division, Kampala for defying Presidential directives on closing places of learning.

At Kabojja, officers got five students and 23 teachers. At Daffodils School, there were only Teachers and Staff members totalling to 53.

The teachers from both schools alleged that their Directors and Head teachers had called them to go to school and email students their homework which they compiled with.

Teachers of Kabojja are also alleging that they were also informed to go and pick their pay cheques.

The students at Kabojja, one claims that he had gone to do interviews and the four are children of staff members.

They are still at Kira Road Police Station.

On March 22, Msgr. Gerald Kalumba (Vicar General, Kampala Archdiocese) was briefly arrested by Police.

He was cautioned and released. The people he was with were also released.

He was celebrating Mass at Christ the King Parish disregarding Presidential directives.
