Congo army kills 37 ADF rebels, loses 12 soldiers

The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo [FARDC] Monday killed 37 Allied Democratic Force [ADF] rebels in East Congo.

The government troops were commanded by Gal Chaligonza, Commander of the Grand Nord Sokola1 Operations sector.

He announced yesterday that following the conquest of “World Space”, FARDC conducted operations against the hidden news of the ADF for 4 days.

“We neutralized 37 ADF, 12 of our elements fell including 1 officer.”

On March 14, 2020, during the fighting in Kasindi, the FARDC arrested an ADF recruitment officer and his wife, both Ugandans.

“Another member of the movement, Congolese, was also arrested during the same operation.”

On March 8, 2020, following the discovery of ADF camps near the Semuliki river, the FARDC used combat helicopters and field artillery.

A total of 13 ADF were neutralized, four [4] soldiers died including a senior officer of the rank of major, company commander.
