The ministry of Health has dismissed social media posts alleging that there was a COVID19 suspected case in downtown Kampala.
Health minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng said they received an alert of a COVID-19 suspected case in downtown Kampala but established that she was under mandatory self-quarantine upon returning from a high risk country.
“We sent our surveillance teams who established that she was in mandatory self-quarantine and exhibited no signs and symptoms of COVIDー19,” Aceng said.
Uganda has NO case of COVID-19, the minister emphasised.
Meanwhile, Crane Management Services also dismissed the rumour that the patient, a tenant of the Ruparelia Group owned Royal Plaza, had coronavirus.
In a statement, Prabhat Mishra the General Manager of Royal Plaza, said the tenant came back from China a couple of weeks ago and decided to self-isolate.
