Uganda gets Shs200m coronavirus equipment

The Ministry of Health has received equipment worth UGX 200M from Infectious Disease Institute with funding support from Resolve To Save Lives to enhance Uganda’s preparedness on COVID19.

The equipment will be sent to Entebbe International Airport, Busia and Mpondwe points of entry.

Health workers at the points of entry will also be trained by IDI. This is meant to enhance their existing knowledge and skills on case management and surveillance of for COVID19.

Uganda has no case of COVID19.

“I would like to advise that schools in Uganda remain open and parents allowed to visit their children. Schools are encouraged to follow our guidelines on mass gatherings and allow parents visit their children,” Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the Minister for Health.
