Presidential aspirant Lt Gen Henry Tumukunde has been arrested.
The former Security minister was picked Thursday evening by Special Forces Command [SFC] soldiers and police from his Kololo office.
Security forces first sealed off two roads in Kololo near the offices of Multichoice Uganda along Impala Avenue, what used to be Lawns Restaurant.
“Comrades, I have been surrounded by army officers at my private office in Kololo,” the retired soldier said on social media.
“Stay United,” he added.
The soldiers then moved into his home to arrest him.
“I have been arrested. This will not stop our resolve,” he confirmed in a short statement before being taken away by soldiers.
