Joan Alice Joshua is the first woman to become Head of Presidential Legal Affairs in South Sudan.
A fresh face and young person too, Joan was appointed in decrees President Salva Kiir issued at the close of last week.
Her appointment has been welcomed by many and is being celebrated by South Sudanese.
She is spoken highly of by her colleagues and is held in high esteem by many people.
She is the first woman in South Sudan to head the Presidential Legal Affairs.
She was elevated to run the Presidential Legal Affairs as the successor to the late Majok Mading.
Unfortunately, Majok Mading died on the 24th of December 2019 of cardiac arrest.
Earlier, Joan was the Deputy Head of Presidential Legal Affairs to Majok Mading Majok, Esq.
Then she was transferred to Ministry of Justice headquarters.
Prior to that, she was Legal Counsellor at the Ministry of Transport 2008—2010.
She just came up through the judicial system.
