Sudhir raises Shs10m for installing new archbishop

Sudhir handed over the cheque to government Chief Whip, Ruth Nankabirwa at Crane Chambers

City businessman Sudhir Ruparelia contributed Shs10m towards the enthronement of the new church of Uganda Archbishop, Samuel Stephens Kazimba Mugalu.

Archbishop-elect Samuel Kazimba will be installed on March 1, 2020.

The organising committee of the function is trying to raise Shs1.16bn.

Sudhir handed over the cheque to government Chief Whip, Ruth Nankabirwa, at Crane Chambers on Friday.

Victoria University

Nankabirwa is the chairperson of the enthronement committee that is charged with overseeing the installation and handover by outgoing Archbishop Stanley Ntagali.

Mugalu was elected the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda succeeding Ntagali who retires in March 2020.
