The swearing in ceremony of South Sudan vice presidents is underway at J1 Palace [State House] in the capital Juba.
The Saturday afternoon inauguration involves four of the five vice presidents President Salva Kiir appointed as part of the new Transitional Government of National Unity [ToGNU].
According to the programme, ToGNU will be formed today following the dissolution of the old cabinet Friday.
Dr Riek Machar [First deputy VP] arrived first at State House for his swearing in ceremony.
He was followed by the three Deputy Presidents including Rebecca Garang, wife of John Garang – South Sudan’s founding father, Iga Wani and Taban Deng.
President Kiir arrived together with Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, David Mabuza, deputy President of South Africa and Ruhakana Rugunda, Prime Minister of Uganda.
Also present are leaders from Sudan, Uganda and Ambassadors who came to witness history in the making.
