A few days ago, Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and his wife Barbara Itungo aka Barbie, hosted Pastor Muto at their Magere home in Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso district.
Muto, 10, the youngest preacher on Kampala streets, came along with his father.
Bobi Wine who was very pleased to host father and son said despite being so young, Pastor Muto has continued to do the work of God in the community.
“I am very proud of him. He is definitely a very inspiring individual who confirms to us that God uses the least qualified people for great deeds.”
He added: “We were very humbled to receive our guests’ prayer and blessing for our household and nation.”
In September 2019, Pastor Muto gave his testimony after surviving malaria which has been disturbing him for quite some time.
The young pastor said if it wasn’t God’s mercy, he wouldn’t have survived since he reject injections.
He fears them and therefore couldn’t allow anyone to inject him.
His real name is Alex Kityo. He is in primary four at Bright Future primary school Gayaza and lives in Manyangwa.
Muto told The Observer in a 2017 interview that he started preaching in top class at Joe and Joe nursery school Manyangwa.
“It was a gift from God. One day I was sleeping and I heard: “Wake up and go pray for the people”. I thought I couldn’t but I felt something pushing me to pray. Whenever I opened my mouth to pray or preach, words flowed out surprisingly,” he told the newspaper.
His favourite Bible verse is Matthew 18, where God calls upon people to be humble like children, for the kingdom of God is theirs. The other one is 1 Samuel 27, where David had confidence in God to [overcome] Saul.
He was inspired by Pastor Aloysius Bugingo and [his ex-wife] Teddy Bugingo who helped him meet his idol.
Muto got a bursary and also managed to pray for Bobi Wine to win the elections, not forgetting building his own church.
The baby exhibits confidence in front of thousands of people, commands adults to kneel before him for prayer and binds demons with Pentecostal boldness.
He came into the real spotlight when he prayed for Bobi Wine before his rallies in the campaign for the Kyadondo East parliamentary by-elections that the latter eventually won.
Bobi Wine’s rallies many times started with the tiny boy being led to the podium – one time straight from school still in his uniform with a backpack possibly containing his empty food container and juice bottle – to pray a blessing for the self-proclaimed ghetto president.
In one incident, he drew laughter and ululation when he commanded Bobi Wine: “Fukamira! (Kneel down)”, which the now-MP did, before the youngster started praying over him with authority.
WHO IS THIS BOY?
Kityo is the last born of 12 children born to Grace Nabayitawa and Salongo Gerald Matovu of Manyangwa, Gayaza in Wakiso district.
Nabayitawa said Kityo initially woke up every night to pray and they took it as a joke, thinking he was imitating Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, because the family listens a lot to the controversial pastor’s Salt FM.
He started from his mother’s garage as space to fellowship in. The garage was being used as a chicken coop and he was denied access.
He later rearranged it as a place of worship and there, started his dream of serving the Lord, naming it “God Is Able Prayer Centre”.
