Bomb scare grips Nairobi

Kenya bomb squad deploys

By Daily Nation

Bomb experts are conducting a search at Doctors Park along Nairobi’s 3rd Parklands Avenue following a bomb scare.

Nairobi Area police boss Philip Ndolo said a notice dropped near the building on Thursday prompted the search.

Reports indicated that the note was claiming that the building would be bombed at any time.

Officers from the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) condoned off the area near the building and only residents were being allowed in.

Mary Muthoni, who works on the building, told Nairobi News that people started evacuating the building after they had rumours there was a bomb.

“Currently, people are being evacuated from the building. This is after word went round that there was a bomb that had been placed somewhere in the building,” she said.

The bomb scare was triggered by a note that was left on the fifth floor of the building.

“Alert! Nimeweka explosive kwa building tayari,” the note read.
