NRM Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba has clarified that former Premier Rt. Hon Patrick Amama Mbabazi has never quit the NRM Party.
While appearing on NTV’s ‘On the Spot’ show hosted by Mr. Patrick Kamara on Thursday evening, SG Lumumba said the secretariat has no records pinning Rt. Hon. Amama Mbabazi as a Party deserter.
She added, “He even never returned our card or made any humiliating attacks on the Party and we still treasure him as a member of NRM”.
She was reacting to questions from Mr Patrick Kamara.
Rt. Hon. Lumumba further urged the Party leadership to pick lessons from the current trend of events between H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Mbabazi.
“Genuine friendship lasts forever. The two have been good friends for long and as their juniors we only need to pick lessons from them”, she stressed.
Lumumba while appearing on UBC Television, confirmed that Museveni had even invited Mbabazi as a special guest to the National Executive Committee [NEC] meeting at State House Entebbe.
A similar invitation was extended to him for the delegates conference at Namboole stadium.
Even when the former NRM secretary general and former prime minister stood against Museveni in 2016 elections, nothing really changed.
Despite trying to lead opposition under The Democratic Alliance [TDA], Museveni still graced Mbabazi’s niece’s wedding in Kololo.
