The new minister of State for Economic Monitoring, Molly Kamukama, is confident to transform the Ugandan economy after taking over that docket.
She made the remarks this week during the hand over at the Ministry of State for Economic Monitoring held at the Office of the President.
Kamukama takes over from Baltazar Kasirivu-Atwooki, also Kasirivu-Atwooki Kyamanywa, the former State Minister for Economic Monitoring.
“You are welcome Molly Kamukama to this ministry, I’m very confident the staff here will give you all the support you need and will be of help when called upon,” Dr Kasirivu said at the handover.
In her turn, Kamukama thanked President Museveni for appointing her to move the Ministry of State for Economic Monitoring forward.
She said different sectors like agriculture, transport, ICT among others that run the economy need more enhancement.
“So, I have been appointed to the Ministry of State for Economic Monitoring to implement the directives of President Museveni.”
“The Ugandan economy needs to transform as a whole that’s why we need all sectoral leaders working together,” she noted.
She added: “With this in place, the economy will accelerate further.”
