City events promoter Balaam Barugahara has put a stop to the planned protest march to Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s home by singer Big Eye.
Starboss alias Big Eye had even written to police seeking security clearance to serve Bobi Wine with a protest letter owing to a Boxing Day incident where revellers stoned and threw bottles at Presidential Advisers Catherine Kusasira and Full Figure at Nabugabo beach in Masaka district.
The revellers who were labelled “People Power supporters” accused the duo of selling out to the ruling NRM government when many people are seeking for change.
Big Eye says he is concerned about the mistreatment of NRM musicians on account of supporting a different political side.
On Monday, Balaam said: “I phoned my brother BigEye Starboss stopped him from conducting a demonstration/confrontation approach against artist on opposing side.”
“He took my advice and he will not be staging any demonstration. All musical challenges can be resolved in a proper manner.”
According to Balaam, confrontation will set a bad precedence amongst the music lovers in the country.
“Let’s encourage and promote tolerance for one another regardless of political differences. We are Ugandans.”
Big Eye was supposed to deliver his protestation to Bobi Wine on January 2, 2020.
