Congo opposition leaders have issued a statement distancing themselves from words of former Prime Minister Lamuka Adolphe Muzito calling for war on Rwanda.
Muzito said only war against Rwanda will put an end to the armed violence in the east of the DRC.
The press also reports on the presentation by the FARDC in Beni of about thirty rebels identified as ADF.
In a press release, Jean Pierre Bemba and Moïse Katumbi, two opposition leaders, members of the Lamuka coalition, disapproved of the remarks made by Adolphe Muzito, coordinator-in-office of Lamuka, calling for a war against the Rwanda for peace in the east of the country, reports 7sur7.cd .
“We therefore invite Comrade Muzito to come back to these words so as not to compromise the ideal that we defend together for the good of our populations,” they said.
The Potential headline: “Lamuka on the brink of implosion: Katumbi and Bemba disavow Muzito”.
The two members of the Lamuka presidium call perfidy the media outing of Adolphe Muzito, who wants the Democratic Republic of Congo to start a war against Rwanda in order to establish peace in the East.
“Faced with this bellicose declaration, Moïse Katumbi and Jean-Pierre Bemba, while dissociating themselves from the words of the current president of Lamuka, disown him in his approach,” continues the newspaper.
According to this Kinshasa daily, this reaction is a sign that the Lamuka platform is undoubtedly losing momentum both at the level of national and international opinion.
After the recognition of Félix Tshisekedi as President of the Republic by the national judicial authorities and the whole international community after the elections of December 30, 2018, Lamuka is struggling to define his action. Consequence, its coast collapses in opinion, recalls the tabloid.
“Wrong track to end the Eastern War: annexation of Rwanda by the DRC: Adolphe Muzito irresponsible! “, Says Le Phare , believing that Adolphe Muzito has disappointed more than one informed observer by making totally irresponsible remarks about the insecurity that prevails in the East of the country.
According to him, the only avenue to exploit to put an end to this situation is to give the FARDC enough financial and logistical means to wage war on Rwanda and annex it.
“According to the same political actor, obviously very ill-advised, the same modus operandi could be implemented against Uganda. Thus, the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo could finally experience lasting peace ”, maintains the daily.
“Annexing Rwanda to the DRC”: Muzito’s words are only his, according to Néhémie Mwilanya, for his part, indicates Cas-info.cd.
From the Nsele valley park where he coordinated the restitution work of the first political retreat of the Common Front for the Congo (FCC), held at the end of November in Kisantu, the coordinator of the political family of Joseph Kabila reacted hotly to the solutions advocated by Adolphe Muzito to pacify the eastern part of the country, reports the online media.
According to him, the government agreement signed with the camp of Félix Tshisekedi provides for resorting to dialogues with the states of the sub-region so that the “intangible principles which manage peaceful coexistence between nations are strictly respected”, recalls the online media.
“The hour of great revelations”.
Still on the situation in the east of the country, Le Potentiel indicates that 37 rebels, including at least 18 Ugandans, 3 Tanzanians, 3 Kenyans, 1 Burundian and 1 Central African are among the rebels identified ADF presented Monday December 23 before the opinion and press of Beni by the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC).
This is a very first wave of attackers arrested among more than 500 others already in the hands of competent services.
According to the FARDC spokesperson quoted by the newspaper, thanks to this exploit, the army was able to access important information which made it possible to identify the death route.
These revelations relate in particular to the real identity of the killers of Beni, their mode of supply, intellectual authors, etc.
