Security has deployed in and outside Kampala to protect HE Teodoro Abiano Eguene, the President of Equatorial Guinea, who is in Uganda on a State visit.
“The Uganda Police there wishes to join the rest of the country in welcoming him and wishing him a memorable stay here,” said deputy police spokesperson, ACP Polly Namaye.
“We have enhanced a number of security interventions bearing in mind that some families have already started to move upcountry for the much anticipated festive season.”
She said the directorate of traffic and road safety will direct and manage traffic flow to ensure no inconveniences on the roads.
Intelligence led operations and patrols shall continue to be carried out visibly as well as covertly to rid communities of possible crimes.
A task force has been set up to manage and investigate any criminal incidents during this operation.
“The public is duly informed of the President’s visit and encouraged to desist from any conduct that may contravene the laws of Uganda.”
