HE President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea will pay an official visit to Uganda this week.
Presidential press secretary Lindah Nabusayi said Obiang will arrive Friday December 13 and stay up to Sunday 15, 2019.
Obiang was last in Uganda on a one-day state visit in January 2018 for a speedy implementation of exiting frameworks and work towards concluding those of cooperation in Energy and Oil sectors, Defence and Security, trade, industrialisation, agriculture and transport.
The return visit followed one that President Museveni made to Equatorial Guinea in August 2017.
The two leaders signed MoUs on oil and gas co-operation as well as trade and culture among others.
The protocol also laid the ground for the establishment of a permanent joint commission for co-operation between Uganda and Equatorial Guinea.
On April 4, 2019, President Museveni received a message from President Obiang delivered by a special envoy Mr. Juan Antonio Bibang Nchuchuma, who is also Minister of External Security.
President Museveni and the envoy also discussed matters of mutual interest between Uganda and Equatorial Guinea.
