Museveni has already won 2021 elections- Tamale

Tamale Mirundi

Presidential advisor on media matters, Tamale Mirundi, says President Museveni has already won 2021 elections with over 80 percent.

Murundi was Tuesday speaking to Bashir Kazibwe, the host of “NBS Tamale” programme where he analyses the week’s major stories.

“President Museveni has already won the 2021 elections,” Mirundi told Kazibwe saying when Ugandans go to polls, he will be waiting at the Mutukula border with Tanzania.

“For me, when they are voting, I’m always at Mutukula border. For this election [2021 elections], Museveni has already won it. He is in 80 percent win now.”

Kazibwe talked of opinion polls and reminded Mirundi that he is playing the devil’s card to make NRM relax and then let opposition win.

“Opinion polls are just stupid. Opinion polls work in societies…maybe like those in Europe,” Mirundi snapped.

He said a president who will stay long in power leaves the system to rot.

“We call it inertia. He leaves the system to rot so that he can use it to retain power,” he explained.

Mirundi said if Museveni had compensated all claimants of Luweero bush way, he wouldn’t be getting any votes from there.

“If Museveni leaves power and remains the national chairman, power would shift from the executive to the chairman of the party and the party [NRM] will be vibrant.”

Anti-corruption walk

Asked whether he would take part in the Wednesday anti-corruption walk, Mirundi said he already knows the game and has no time to waste.

“I won’t participate because a doctor can’t go for the burial of his patient…I feel victory now. I’m a victor.”

He added: “All the books I have written and the things I warned against have all come true. I know this crusade.”

Besigye vs Bobi Wine

Mirundi also spoke on the plight of People Power leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine as well as People’s Government President Kizza Besigye.

According to Mirundi, Besigye’s petrol stations are working, his wife Winnie Byanyima is working abroad [as UNAIDS executive director] while Bobi Wine can’t sing anymore.

“Besigye belongs to the club of the bushmen,” Mirundi noted.

“How do you think Besigye has survived where others failed? His wife is abroad working. Yet Bobi Wine is being stopped from singing.”

He added: “You see Bobi Wine being caned like in the Arua saga but have you seen Besigye being caned?”
