A man in Lamwo district is being hunted by police for allegedly burning his wife’s private parts on Thursday night.
Robert Komakech, the suspect, and his wife Santa, are all residents of Kakira South village in Padibe town council in Lamwo District.
The nasty incident resulted from a domestic brawl which saw Komakech beat up Santa and then push a glowing piece of firewood into the victim’s private parts.
Padibe town council Chairperson, Solomon Ochola, told Daily Monitor the suspect fled the scene after committing the crime.
He was subsequently arrested but he managed to escape from police custody and returned to the village to kill the wife.
The couple, according to neighbours, has been having a long standing feud, with the suspect always accusing his wife of reporting him to clan elders who always punish him.
Santa is currently nursing injuries and burns at Padibe Health Centre IV.
Lamwo Acting District Police Commander ASP Mashuid Ssemwogere told Monitor a case of assault and torture have been reported at Padibe Police post by a section of women activists and members of Lamwo district woman council.
