Singer Edirisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo says he will vote for People Power Movement leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine but won’t campaign for him in 2021 elections.

Kenzo made the declaration on Thursday while addressing press at Mestil hotel in Nsambya, Kampala.

The press conference came after social media erupted over Kenzo’s meeting with President Museveni early in the week.

“I have seen alot being said on social media and all media platforms about my visit to the State House and I remembered this video I made here live one year ago. If you wanna know where I stand and what I stand for please watch and listen to this video carefully,” he said on Wednesday.

He promised to give details at a press conference Thursday at Mestil Hotel in Nsambya at 10:30am.

At the press conference, Kenzo told press: “Mr. Kyagulanyi is my friend but I will never campaign for him again. I will support him and vote for him but won’t campaign for him.”

Kenzo said he will never jump onto any platform to convince people for him unless he has himself convinced people of what he is capable of doing.

Kenzo meeting Museveni

People Power pressure group members have been hurling insults at the already troubled musician accusing him of selling out Bobi Wine for big cash allegedly offered by the president.

Kenzo in 2011 campaigned for President Museveni with his “Stamina” song. In 2016, Kenzo campaigned for Bobi Wine to take the Kyadondo East parliamentary seat.

“I campaigned for him (Bobi Wine) in Kyadondo but for president, I won’t. He must convince people he is the best,” Kenzo told media.

He said meeting Museveni was a dream come true for him and that he is blessed to have gone through with it.

“I celebrate it (meeting) as an achievement. I even told Kyagulanyi and Zaake that I was going to see Mzee.”

He added: “I am not ready to fight government. I don’t think am ready to fight with the state.”
