Mr. Abubaker Walusimbi, a former Entebbe Municipality Parliamentary candidate who subscribed to Democratic Party [DP] has defected to Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] party.
This happened Sunday as the party concluded a mobilisation expedition at Katabi with the FDC Entebbe municipality branch leaders.
Walusimbi came along with 215 former DP and NRM grassroot mobilisers who officially joined the FDC Party.
They were received by the Party Deputy President who also doubles as Lubaga Division Mayor Her worship Owek Joyce Nabbosa Ssebuggwawo and FDC Party Spokesperson who also is Opposition Chief Whip in Parliament and Kira Municipality MP Hon. Ibrahim Nganda Ssemujju.
These Party Mobilisation expeditions are aimed at keeping track of the health of the Party, moral boasting and strengthening of our Party structures, communicating party activities and plans, preparing the structures for forthcoming grassroot structure elections, general election 2021 and regime change programs.
This is part of the recently launched FDC kampala metropolitan mobilisation program.
Just like in Busia district on Saturday and Butaleja district Sunday morning, Police attempted to interfere with the activity but were prevailed over by FDC party faithfuls.
“We thank FDC Entebbe municipality branch leadership led by Chairman Othieno, Mr. Walusimbi Abubaker and FDC Wakiso district branch leadership led by Chairman Muwanguzi Caleb for coordination,” the party said.
On Saturday, the party leaders went on a mobilisation spree in Makindye District where they met Party structures & elected leaders at Shine Hotel Kansanga.
The event that was organised by Makindye East area MP Hon. Ibrahim Kasozi, was graced by Deputy President Owek. Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo, Party Chairman Amb. Wasswa Biriggwa, Party Spokesperson (brand ambassador) Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda among others.
This Mobilization drive continued today in Entebbe as other leaders continue combing other parts of the Country.
In Iganga, FDC youth league branch organised a one day leadership and mobilisation training conference at Christian -Gardens in Iganga Municipality.
The training was officially opened by party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat and Hon. Proscovia Salaamu Musumba the Party Vice Chairman delivered a keynote address while the National Youth leader Mr. Mulindwa Walid Lubega officiated the closure.
The FDC Party legal affairs secretary Hon. AbedNasser Mudiobole addressed it.
Mr. Kawanguzi Paul presented on effective Youth Mobilisation, Deputy CAO Fred Mutibwa facilitated on public speaking while counsel Hatim Mpaata presented on Youth and Human rights.
There was also fundraising for the purchase of Iganga FDC mamba which was graced by FDC national youth league Treasurer Nasurdin Basalirwa and Hajat Nabirye Zurah the Iganga district Woman leader.
