A strong wind of ‘change’ blew away a tent where two ministers were sitting during an event in Napak District Karamoja sub-region.
Daily Monitor reported that the Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Eng John Byabagambi and the state minister for environment, Dr Mary Goretti Kitutu escaped unhurt during the mysterious incident.
The incident happened Tuesday while the ministers attended a function held in commemoration of Global Handwashing Day at Matany Primary school in Matany Sub County in Napak District.
According to the report, guests were left in shock after the wind only blew away the tent under which they were seated.
Kitutu who pretended to maintain a forced calmness attributed the incident to the severity of deforestation in the area.
She then appealed to the people of Karamoja to stop cutting trees.
Paul Lokol, one of the organisers, apologised to the ministers before blaming “nature for working against” them.
Global Handwashing Day is an international campaign commemorated every October 15 to motivate and mobilise people around the world to improve their hand washing habits.
