Omoro Woman Member of Parliament, Catherine Lamwaka, has said the recent report released from Parliament that shows over 100 Member of Parliament who were absconding committee meeting in her case sounded very unfair.

Lamwaka said the report was captured at the time she was for maternity leave with full knowledge of the office of the speaker and wondered why her name still had to appear on the list of parliamentarian absconding without stating that she was for maternity leave.

The Member of Parliament who is in two committee of Government assurance and committee of parliament argued that at it would be very important for the report to try and capture why a particular member of parliament fails to attend committee especially for those with clear reason and full notification of office of the speaker.

“I don’t know about others but I was for maternity leave and I had a caesarean birth at that time they quoted and the office of the speaker had full knowledge of this then seeing my name appearing without reason makes me feels the record needs to be put straight.”
