The number of people who died in a Sunday morning bus accident in Bugiri district has risen to eight.
The incident happened at Nakawa in Busowa Town Council along the Jinja-Tororo highway at around 5.30am.
The Kenyan bus Modern Coast knocked a trailer registration number ZE 2344 whose driver lost control and veered to the side where the bus was.
The officer-in-charge of traffic at Bugiri Police Station, Hopkins Twesiga, told Daily Monitor three people [including driver and turn man of the trailer] died on the spot while the other five died on their way to Bugiri Hospital.
The bodies of the deceased are now at Bugiri Hospital mortuary.
The injured were taken to different hospitals including Bugiri, Iganga and Fast Line Medical Centre in Bugiri.
They were indentified as Hellen Lunyolo, Fauzia Kalele, Adrian Migadde, Lamula Nansubuga, Joseph Mwanja and Kairu Kairu.
