Kyadondo East MP Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine on Tuesday big farewell to his voters saying he won’t be running for the seat he occupies again.
He was addressing mourners at the home of his late driver Yasin Kawuma in Lusanja, Kasangati town council in Wakiso district.
People Power supporters had gathered for a service to mark a year since the Arua fracas where Kawuma was shot.
Earlier, police blocked prayers planned at Kamwokya Catholic Parish organised by People Power supporters.
Speaking to mourners, Bobi Wine said: “I will not stand for Kyadondo MP seat ever again. I now have a bigger mission to accomplish.”
He said the big mission was to remove President Museveni from power.
“I want to assure you that we are going to unseat Museveni using any constitutional means,” Bobi Wine told supporters during Dua (prayers).
He said the death of Kawuma who he thanked for “taking a bullet for me” would become his inspiration to out Museveni’s regime.
“This is not politics but reality. Yasin was not standing for any political position but was killed. I am not a slave for any of those in government.”
He added: “I know what I want. Let us know it is not about him but us all in the fight for our freedoms. It is not about religion or tribe but a matter of good and evil.”
Bobi Wine has already declared that he will contest for the presidency in 2021 hence Kyadondo East needs to find another capable leader to represent them in the 11th parliament.
Bobi Wine accuses the regime of ‘persecution and murder of a number of pro-change activists” saying this has strengthened his resolve to change the status quo.
