Police has arrested Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] secretary for mobilisation Ingrid Turinawe while taking food for suspects at Central Police Station in Kampala.
Augustine Ojobile, Abdullah Waiswa, Joel Kabali, Simon Wanyera, Fatuma Abenabyo, and Moses Katumba are charged with assault, malicious damage, and contempt of court, following the throwing of a bottle at Grade One Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu who was sentencing former Makerere researcher Stella Nyanzi.
Earlier, Ingrid accused police of starving suspects, saying ASP Fabiano Baryayamba had blocked her twice from giving food to her colleagues.
She tried twice on Saturday and Sunday morning when herself was arrested.
She is currently detained at CPS as well.
The now 7 FDC activists will appear before Buganda court Monday at 9am.
“Let’s be at Buganda Road Court to show solidarity and stand surety for them,” the party said.
