City Pastor Aloysius Bujingo showed up at Central Police Station in Kampala on Tuesday night following police summons on inciting violence.
The House of Prayer Ministry pastor is under fire for making public comments about his wife Teddy Bugingo which incited women activists to protest.
After foiling a march of women to parliament on Monday, police summoned Bujingo and he did show up at around 8pm for fear of being photographed by the journalists who were waiting for him.
“Yes, the Pastor honoured our invitation,” Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, told edge.ug on Wednesday.
Onyango said Bujingo had a meeting with Commander Kampala Metropolitan Police, CP Moses Kafero.
“Their meeting was cordial dialogue. The commander cautioned him on words that incite women and to avoid talking about his family matters in public,” Onyango explained.
He said Bujingo, in response, promised to comply.
Bujingo who recorded a statement and was released on police bond, explained his late coming thus:
“I was told over 100 Journalists were waiting for me to photograph me. I decided to come at night after they have retired from their daily work.”
