Abdallah Mubiru and Livingstone Mbabazi will take charge of the Uganda Cranes against Somalia in the CHAN 2020 qualifier, the Federation of Uganda Football Association [FUFA] has announced.
This comes after former Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre terminated his contract to join Egyptian club Pyramids FC after Senegal knocked Uganda out of African Nations Cup in Egypt.
The football governing body Wednesday named Mubiru Uganda Cranes interim coach assisted by Mbabazi following the exit of the French national Sebastian Desabre.
Sadiq Wasswa was named goalkeeping coach respectively.
Former Cranes skipper Geoffrey Massa will be the team coordinator.
President Moses Magogo told press conference at Fufa headquarters in Mengo that the group has been appointed on interim basis.
“But if they want to apply for the role of Uganda Cranes coach they can go on.”
Magogo said Fufa has opened applications for both Ugandans and non-Ugandans to take up that position of being Cranes coach.
The four were in charge of the Cranes team that competed in COSAFA Cup that was hosted in South Africa last month.
