Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and People’s Government Leaders have been in Nebbi campaigning for FDC candidate for District Chairman Vicky Onyai Emmanuel.

FDC President Patrick Oboi Amuriat, President Kizza Besigye, Obongi County MP Hassan Fungaroo Kaps (Deputy National Mobiliser in charge of West Nile) National Mobiliser Ingrid Turinawe and West Nile Leaders campaigned for Onyai Vicky Emmanuel in Kucyini, Akanyo and Palombo.

At Palombo, there was an interruption of the FDC rally by Independent Candidate Othuba George and his supporters who twice invaded the FDC rally.

The interruption was contained by President Kizza Besigye who called for calm among supporters of various candidates saying “we are both oppressed, there is no need to fight/clash. They are oppressed and we are oppressed, so let’s keep calm.”

Othuba’s supporters invaded the rally when Kizza Besigye was speaking.

A similar incident happened in Arua by-elections in 2018.
