UTL’s Bemanya gets 5-year term contract at URSB

The Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister Kahinda Otafiire re-appointed Bemanya Twebaze to the post of Registrar General at Uganda Registration Services Bureau [URSB].

Otafiire said this was recommended by the chairman URSB in his letter dated June 19, 2019.

“Your contract has been renewed as Registrar General,” Otafiire wrote in his June 27 letter saying Bemanya had 14 days to accept the appointment.  

The date of appointment is March 2020 upon expiry of the current contract.

The duration of service is five years, renewable on satisfactory performance.

Bemanya will have a chauffeur driven vehicle for a period of the contract; medical care for him, wife and four children; suitable telephone of talk time basis; security guards at his residence, allowances and other benefits.

Bemanya who also serves as the administrator of Uganda Telecom Limited has been locked in a battle of wits with Investment minister Evelyn Anite.
