Uganda Police has refuted reports claiming the force withdraw it’s VIP guards from former Supreme Court Judge Justice George Kanyeihamba.
Media reports alleged as such and went ahead to say the Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom Muwenda Mutebi had offered his own security to guard the retired judge.
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said Saturday the reports were false and baseless and that police was still protecting the professor.
He also explained that salaries of VIP escorts is paid by judiciary not the police as alleged.
He said they will deploy more guards incase the situation warrants it.
Recently, Kanyeihamba clashed with his police guard who he claimed held him hostage at his Buziga home in Kampala.
Police denied his version of the story causing the professor to cry at a press conference.
