President Museveni has Wednesday commissioned the bus terminal in Moroto Municipality, Moroto District.
This bus terminal will have restaurants on the upper floor, modern toilet and bathroom facilities, a ticketing office and will be able to accommodate at last 16 (Sixteen) busses at a time.
“With this terminal, we shall be able to organise bus operators here and reduce congestion on the road sides,” he said.
“Also, with a very smooth road from Soroti to Moroto, which we are stretching to Kotido, we are able to attract local and foreign tourism.”
With tourism earnings, he said people here will be able to improve their standards, while others will be employed directly and indirectly.
“This fits well into my agenda on wealth creation. I hope that the wanainchi can use this infrastructure to get themselves out of poverty.”
