President Yoweri Museveni has arrived at Serena Conference Centre to deliver his annual State of the Nation Address.
The president, who arrived minutes after 2pm, first inspected the guard of honour.
He was then received by Vice President Edward Ssekandi, Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, Chief Justice Bart Katurebe and Clerk to Parliament, Jane Kibirige.
In fulfilment of the Constitutional requirement under article 101 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, Museveni is addressing the nation today Thursday June 6th at Serena Hotel.
Article 101 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda provides that “The President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament, deliver to Parliament an address on the state of the nation”.
The president’s address comes ahead of the 2019/20 Budget Speech next week.
