Missing Makerere student Mukisa found, hospitalised

Makerere Law Society says Mukisa Joshua, the third year law student who has been missing, has been found.

“He is currently at Mulago Hospital. Thank you all for your prayers and effort,” the law society said in a social media statement.

Makerere Law Society‏ first reported Mukisa missing on May 28, 2019.

“Mukisa Joshua still missing! A third year law school member. The search for him is still going on,” the society said last month.

“We beseech you all to join in the social media campaign to that effect. Please, let us be a vigilante force on all the media platforms, using the #FindMukisa.”

The University Guild House, the Police also worked tirelessly to carry out an effective search.

A committee was formed by the President Makerere Law Society for this matter.

The People Power candidate, Mukisa had just lost the guild election to the current Guild President Julius Kateregga.

A resident of Lumumba hall, Mukisa was on Monday found near a swamp with scars and marks of physical beatings all over his body, an indication that he was tortured by his captors.

He was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital and later transferred to Bombo Military Hospital.
