Police has Monday blocked Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] Party President Patrick Amuriat from meeting Butebo FDC district leaders.
According to the party’s chief mobiliser Ingrid Turinawe, police poured down food that was prepared for FDC leaders in Butebo District.
People were brutally dispersed and the venue for the meeting cordoned off.
The organiders of the FDC grass root leaders meeting who include the FDC District Chairman and District General Secretary were detained at Butebo police station.
While Amuriat was under siege, police arrested atleast five FDC leaders and locked them away.
The defiant Amuriat had just inspected broken bridges before police put him under siege and violently dispersed FDC Supporters.
