Army court finds Kitatta guilty, convicts him

The General Court Martial sitting in Makindye has Monday found Boda Boda 2010 Patron Abdallah Kitatta guilty on two counts of unlawful possession of fire arms.

General Court Martial Lt Gen Andrew Gutti has convicted Kitatta and two others of the offences.

Kitatta has been in jail for close to 16 months for unlawful possession of firearms, ammunition and military uniforms.

His bodyguard Ngobi Sowali and Ibrahim Ssekajja, his driver have also been found guilty on two counts which each carry a maximum of ten [10] years.

The same court has acquitted seven other co-accused members who were found not guilty of the said charges.

Prosecution requested the court to sentence Kitata to maximum of ten years in jail to sound a warning to other would be offenders.
