Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has Monday answered police summons and headed to CID headquarters in Kibuli for questioning.
The MP is escorted by his Mityana Municipality counterpart Hon Francis Zaake and Bugiri MP Asuman Basalirwa who is also his lawyer.
Katwe Police Station last week summoned Bobi Wine for incitement of violence and holding an unlawful assembly.
The summons dated Thursday April 2, 2019 refer to an April 22 incident in which Bobi Wine allegedly incited violence in defiance to guidelines by the Inspector General of Police.
The letter signed by the Director Criminal Investigations Joseph Obwona says Bobi Wine defied the IGP and held an unlawful assembly during the preparation of Kyarenga extra concert at One Love Beach in Busabala.
He was expected to appear last Friday April 26th at 1:00 hours, the same time police ended his under house arrest at his home in Magere, Kasangati Wakiso district.
The Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah, earlier urged the state to arraign Bobi Wine in court instead of detaining him in his home if he has committed crimes.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Mario Obiga Kania, on the continued arrest of Hon. Kyagulanyi, had said the legislator was being detained for committing some crimes.
