There was a fire outbreak in one of Uganda National Roads Authority [UNRA] stores in the Kyambogo complex.
The Uganda Police Brigade unit working with the area Kyambogo Police Post was informed and they put out the fire.
Mark Ssali, the UNRA Head of Public and Corporate Affairs, said the fire broke out at about 03:00 this morning.
By the time the fire was put out, the store and its contents had been majorly damaged.
The store was housing old and archived documents.
The cause of the fire outbreak is now under investigation by the Uganda Police working with our in-house Investigations and Compliance Department headed by Commissioner of Police (CP) Beata Chelimo.
“The Management of UNRA wishes to sincerely appreciate the Uganda Police for containing the fire,” Ssali said in a statement.
