The second edition of the long awaited Kabira club football edition has been launched this morning at Kabira Country Club, a four-star hotel in upscale Kampala suburb of Bukoto East of Kampala city in Nakawa division.
This year’s football tournament has attracted 20 corporate teams that area to be seeded into four groups with each group accommodating 5 teams.
While officiating the launch of the tournament, the General Manager Of Kabira Country Club Mr Rakesh Hurrychurn said the main aim and objective of this year’s tournament is to promote football in Uganda.
“It is to create physical awareness, create a tie among the sister companies and strengthening the social corporate responsibility to the community and among the customers of Kabira Country Club.”
On behalf of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), it’s head of marketing executive Ms Esther Musoke who represented the football governing body boss Engineer Moses Magogo thanked the management of Kabira Country Club and the entire Ruparelia group for having successfully organised last year’s event.
Musoke pledged to support the now annual gala and assured the organisers of FUFA’s backing and inclusion of the game on to the football governing body’s annual sports calendar.
Mr Kintu Ivan, the FUFA’s club licensing manager, outlined the rules and regulations that are to govern this year’s tournament.
Among these are; six players shall be allowed on either side during play, no player from FUFA’s premier league, big league, regional leagues and district leagues shall be allowed to participate in the tournament.
The Kabira club football tournament that kick-starts on Sunday 31st.03.2019 at 8 pm and ends at 6pm has attracted 20 teams.

The tournament’s winner will bag a trophy and 1 million shillings plus Gold medals, the runners up will bag 500.000 Uganda shillings and silver medals while the 3rd team will walk home with Shs300.000 and bronze medals.
The top score and most valuable players will bag Shs500.000 each.
