People Power’s Tundulu wins Kyambogo guild presidency

Jonathan Tundulu, a People Power candidate, is the winner of Kyambogo University’s guild presidential seat.

People Power Movement is a pressure group associated with Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine who is also contesting for presidency in 2021 general elections.

Tundulu who stood under this banner defeated eleven contenders in the Thursday election to become the 16th Guild President of Kyambogo.

He garnered 2,789 votes beating Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] candidate Atto Sebbi Juma who managed 2,634 votes.

Kalulu Nicholas came third with over 1,489 votes and Ahabwe Christian came last with 1,133 votes.

Tundulu who secured the seat with a margin of over 400 votes was declared winner by the Electoral Commission led by Shabil Ojambo Wabwire.

Earlier, FDC’s Juma had petitioned the electoral commission alleging irregularities at the faculty of Engineering Faculty. His claims were dismissed.

Tundulu who now replaces FDC’s Amanya German is a third year Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering student.

He served as a Guild Representative Councillor (GRC) for Faculty of Engineering in the 2018/2019 Guild House.
