On Saturday, February 23, opposition Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] said it received two ruling National Resistance Movement [NRM] leaders who defected in Buwenge, Jinja district.
The Party Leadership in Jinja was interfacing with the Party branch in Kagoma Constituency.
The district leadership rolled out a mobilisation caravan that will cover all the 14 Sub Counties, and has been launched from Buwenge town Council.
The intentions of this mobilisation drive is to stock take the strength and challenges within the Kagoma branch, build synergies, rolling out the candidates identification programme at all elective levels, prepare for forth coming Party grassroots Structures building activities as well as Preparing the Party wider Membership an Supporters for regime change.
This activity is a culmination of the recent Expanded Busoga Region Leaders Conference that took place on 29th January in Iganga where all district branches agreed to embark on an aggressive mobilization activities with in their areas.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Balabye Charles, the FDC Kagoma Constituency Chairman.
In attendance was Hon. Prof. Frank Nabwiso the former Member of Parliament for Kagoma Constituency, Mr. Maganda Abubaker the FDC district chairman and many other dignitaries.
The meeting was blessed with a defection of Mr. Babaranda B, the former Speaker of Buwenge Town Council, and Mr. Kibatanya Sowaali, the current Councillor for PWD’s representing Buwenge Town Council, both formerly of the NRM Party.
