Akuze no witchdoctor, doesn’t know Kadaga- relative

A purported relative claims Damian Akuze, the now famous witchdoctor who sued Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, has never been a shaman as he presents himself.

Akuze, a resident of Buwala, Kamuli District, recently made news when he took Kadaga to High Court demanding Shs200m payment for the charms he administered to boost her political career.

The relative who asked not to be named said Akuze who lost his wife now has eight children to look after.

“He is not a witchdoctor. He was just haunted by family spirits a few years ago. We all know he is mad,” the relative narrated.

The relative who emphasised Akuze’s alleged insanity claimed he has never been a shaman.

“He was a bad man who treated every relative harshly and segregated everyone. That is why the spirits are haunting him.”

Akuze has since been isolated by his relatives and allegedly banished from the family after being suspected of taking part in his younger brother’s murder.

Akuze allegedly stopped in Primary Three [P.3] in Kisozi and has no academic background to help him pursue a suit against Kadaga.

According to the family, someone else is blackmailing Kadaga through Akuze.

They claim there is no way Akuze who cannot even afford school fees for his children, would come up with legal fees to initiate a law suit.

In his application lodged at Jinja High Court, Akuze claimed Kadaga approached him in 1990 for a political charm.

The Clerk to Parliament, Jane Kibirige, trashed the claims as those of a fraud, saying Kadaga built her career with her own sweat.
