The former police director of criminal intelligence Col Ndahura Atwooki has been granted bail by the General Court Martial.
The court chairman Gen Andrew Gutti Monday released Ndahura on a non-cash bail of Shs10m.
Ndahura’s sureties included; Maj Gen Apollo Kasita, Col Frnacis Kashaka, Col Wilson Kaleba and Ruhinda MP Donozio Kahonda.
He will not be allowed to travel beyond Kampala and Wakiso district. He is to report to court every first week of the month.
Last year, Ndahura was charged with failure to protect war material. He has been under military detention for eight months.
He is co-charged with former Police Chief Gen. Kale Kayihura, ACP Herbert Muhangi, the former Flying Squad Commander, SSP Richard Ndaboine (former head of Police Cyber Crime Unit) and Nixon Agasiirwe(former commander, Special Operations Unit), AIP Jonas Ayebaze, ASP Patrick Muramira (former deputy commander police Special Operations Unit) and Detective constable Abel Kitagenda.
They are accused of kidnap and repatriation of Rwandan refugees including Lt. Joel Mutabazi, Jackson Karemera and Sgt. Innocent Karisa.
Kayihura also failed to protect war materials contrary to section 122(1) (2) (d) of the UPDF when between 2010 and 2018, he allowed the issue of arms and ammunitions to unauthorised persons including members of Boda boda 2010 led by one Abdullah Kitatta.
