A woman has accused Ugandan Pastor Yiga Abizzayo, a self-proclaimed ‘Prophet’ of raping her and making her pregnant.

Angel Ainembabazi who hails from Bushenyi district says she has taken Yiga to police for child neglect.

Ainembabazi alleges that she was raped by Pastor Yiga when she had gone to the Pastor for special prayers to get a job.

“I came to his church when I was young so they can pray for me and I get a job.”

She wanted money to further her studies. This happened at his then St Augustine Revival church Kawaala.

“He promised to pray for me at night, undress me and chase away the ghosts,” she narrated.

“They gave me a room and at around 2am, pastor Yiga came to pray for me. He touched me and pushed me. I fell on the bed. He overpowered me and raped me.”

They locked her in the same room for a day. The next day, Yiga sent her to South Sudan to start on her new job.

“I wasn’t getting my periods four months later. I called him but the phone was being picked by others. When he finally picked, he said “we will see”. But then the phone went off. He changed it completely.

She added: “I gave birth and raised my child alone. He now wants to go to school and I don’t have school fees.”

Not first time

Yiga was in 201 embroidered in a case where Brenda Nalubega, one of the followers accused him of raping, impregnating and infecting her with HIV/AIDS.

The pastor has since fled to South Africa after pressure from money lenders due to accumulated debts.

He allegedly sold off St Augustine Revival church Kawaala and went to South African believers with his newly acquired “prophetic powers”.

He built another church called Great Revival Church in Pretoria West, the administrative city of South Africa.

The proprietor of ABS TV hit the religious scenes by claiming he could exorcise bad omens. His TV was closed by Uganda Communications Commission [UCC] for using naked girls as news anchors.
