Makerere University Law School lecturers have written to Vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe on how he is running the oldest education institution.
The law dons have sent another legal advice to Prof Nawangwe.
“It’s our responsibility as a school of law to provide well-reasoned guidance on matters of law,” wrote Christopher Mbazira, Ag Principal Makerere Law School.
They say Nawangwe’s actions taken amount to a direct attack on freedom of association and academic freedom.
The School of Law said it is concerned that the actions taken by the Makerere management amount to a direct attack on the constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of associations, organisation and Academic Freedom.
“This is especially since the action taken against the leadership was directly linked to positions they hold,” Mbazira noted.
