Police has cancelled a Radio’s listeners party organised by Weasel and Radio management in remembrance of deceased singer Moses Ssekibogo aka Mowzey Radio.
Goodlyfe Entertainment Management had insisted on releasing “Moses The Great” music album dedicated to deceased member Mowzey Radio.
This came after the Government Administrator General, Bayiga Irene, issued a court order barring the music group from releasing Radio’s music contrary to an earlier plan in which the late singer’s songs would keep coming out every year.
Radio’s album “Moses The Great” was scheduled to be released today, Friday January 25, 2019.
The album listening party was supposed to be released at DNA Lounge in Kololo.
DNA Lounge is a bar owned by Leone Island singing doctor Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone.
The mother of Radio reported seven local musicians to CID accusing them of duplicating and selling her late son’s songs.
Jane Kasubo told CID that her son’s songs are being reproduced and sold without the family’s knowledge.
Police has since summoned Douglas Mayanja alias Weasle, Geoffrey Kyagambidwa aka Chagga and Emotions Musinguzi.
Henry Mugumya who signed the summons said the artistes are required to appear Friday at CID headquarters in Kibuli without fail.
The CID spokesperson, SP Vincent Ssekatte, said arrest warrants will be issued to the musicians if they do not respond.
They are accused of reproducing songs such as Neera, Mpeka , Nakessa and Zino Enaku.
Mowzey died on February 1, 2018. He succumbed to head injuries he suffered in a bar brawl in Entebbe.
