Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake has appreciated State Minister for ICT Idah Erios Nantaba for taking care of him when he was hospitalised.
A scenario that set tongues wagging on social media came on August 19, 2018 when the Kayunga District Woman Member of Parliament visited Zaake at Rubaga Hospital.
Zaake was dumped at the gate by security operatives after being tortured by Special Forces Command [SFC] soldiers following a scuffle in Arua town.
The scuffle saw President Museveni’s car was vandalised and singer Bobi Wine’s driver Yasin Kawuma shot dead.
Nantaba became the first legislator from the ruling party to visit Zaake who subscribes to “people power” movement.
After her visit, Zaake was taken off life support. Nantaba is also a known close confidant of President Museveni.
In a letter dated January 18, 2019, Zaake told Nantaba she was his good friend and that he was lucky to still be among the living.
“I want to thank you in a special way because amidst all the challenges and uncertainties, you stood by me. Such benevolence is God given, thank you very much,” he wrote.
He added: “May God prosper you and your family to do biggest things for humanity and the year 2019.”
Zaake said he reflected on his situation last year and decided to thank everybody that contributed to my well-being.
