Gagamel singer Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool has started sharing videos which provide evidence that he shared Shs400m he got from President Museveni with fellow musicians.
On Friday, the singer gave musicians 24 hours to speak out on the Shs400m he got from State House or he exposes them.
He received the said money in 2015 as payment for “Tubonga Naawe” project which featured a dozen musicians.
They are; King Saha, Dr. Jose Chameleone, Juliana Kanyomozi, Ki Radiology, Weasel, Iryn Namubiru, Pastor Wilson Bugembe, Rema Namakula, Judith Babirye and Haruna Mubiru.
They composed a song that Museveni used in the 2016 presidential campaigns.
While appearing on a local television station, Bebe Cool said he was shocked that the same musicians are denying ever receiving the money.
Even Andrew Benon Kibuuka, the president of the Uganda National Performing Arts Association, denied pocketing Shs1bn donated by Museveni and instead accused Bebe Cool of taking the money meant for artists.
As a way of accountability, Bebe Cool on Saturday night shared a video showing singer Dr Hilderman singing for his share of the money.
“Yesterday I gently asked Ugandan artists who I gave the money to acknowledge it but all in vain and all that happens is Bebe Cool stole the money,” Bebe Cool wrote.
He went on: “Some of these musicians have even gone ahead to abuse the president. Ok. If you don’t want your video to come out, make a general post acknowledging that the money was genuinely lent to us by Bebe Cool.”
“Failure to do so, I will be left with no choice but defend myself by releasing more evidence.”
